Van Persie to make first league start since leaving Man Utd

Fenerbahçe striker Robin van Persie is expected to make his first start for his new side since leaving Manchester United last month.

Van Persie scored his first goal for the Istanbul giants with his first shot for Fenerbahçe in the 1-0 victory over Atromitos in the Europa League play-off stages last Thursday.

The Yellow Canaries have not lost against Rizespor in the league for the last six games.

Fenerbahçe do not have recent fond memories of Rize as it was where the team bus was attacked by gunmen on the way back to Istanbul after last seasons game.

The assailants involved in the attack have yet to be caught and a heavy security presence is expected at the game and afterwards.
