Arda Turan made his official debut for Barcelona in the 4-1 victory over Espanyol in the Spanish Cup Last 16 first-leg game on Wednesday at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona scored four goals but the main question being asked in Turkey afterwards was what exactly did Messi whisper in Turan’s ear after scoring his second goal.
Messi scored the goal of the evening after a tremendous free-kick which hit the cross-bar and went in after which he whispered something in the Turkish international wingers ear.
Turan told reporters after game: “Messi whispered something in my ear but that will stay with me let’s just say we have had a little joke.”
The 28-year-old remained coy over the details of what was said but he was delighted to have been on the winning team after the game.
“I was excited but also calm it was a great game and I am delighted to have been on the winning side on my derby,” he added.
Turan made his debut on Wednesday after a six-month wait due to the FIFA transfer ban imposed on the club preventing Barcelona from registering new players.
The fiery winger made was fielded on the right-side of the midfield three and played 68 minutes before being replaced by Rakitic who has played in the same position for most of the 2015-16 season.
