A group of Arsenal fans have begged Mesut Ozil to remain at the club next season following their disappointing 2-1 defeat at the hands of Swansea City yesterday.

The German international is closing in on a Premier League record for assists and he has been one of the star players of the season.

One group of fans bumped into Ozil’s car and begged him to stay for another year. “Stay one more year,” one fan shouted at Ozil.

The clip reflects a growing fear among Arsenal fans who feel the 27-year-old may request to leave the club at the end of the season for failing to compete for major silverware.

Ozil has provided 18 assists so far in the Premier League and is just two assists of matching the league record of 20 held by Thierry Henry.

Arsenal looked set to record a comfortable home victory when Joel Campbell found the back of the net after just 15 minutes.

However, Wayne Routledge levelled the scored 17 minutes later while Swansea captain Ashley Williams scored the winner midway though the second half.
