Video: Barcelona star Arda Turan greeted by sea of fans in Japan

Barcelona arrived in Japan ahead of the World Club Cup yesterday and despite not being able to play in the competition head coach Luis Enrique decided to bring Arda Turan along for the ride and he turned out to be quite a hit.

The bearded winger was swamped by Japanese fans cheering his name and requesting signatures from the Turkish international.

Turan has yet to even make his debut for Barcelona despite joining on a five-year deal from Atletico Madrid over the summer transfer window.

Barcelona are currently allowed to sign players but are restricted from registering them until the transfer window opens in January.

Turan joined Aleix Vidal and Barcelona CEO Jose Bartomeu in attending an event between the FC Barcelona Foundation and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Tokyo at 6.30pm today.

The purpose of the event is to push and promote the ‘Let’s Beat Extreme Poverty’.
