Bayer Leverkusen beat Stuttgart 4-3 in a seven goal thriller at the BayArena today.
Stuttgart took a two goal lead with Martin Harnik and Daniel Didavi meeting for the away side before Karim Bellarabi pulled one back for Bayer.
Lukas Rupp looked to have put the game out of sight when he scored to make it 3-1 in Stuttgart’s favour on 60 minutes.
However, Boenisch and Javier Hernandez scored within the space of a minute to equalise and Hakan Çalhanoğlu setup Admir Mehmedi with a last minute winner.
Çalhanoğlu now has a total of five goals and four assists in all competitions for Bayer this season.
The Turkish international’s impressive performances have not gone unnoticed and he has attracted the interest of Manchester united and Arsenalaccording to TalkSport.
The 21-year-old playmaker has been closely monitored by Barcelona who are in the market for a new midfielder following injuries suffered by Rafinha, Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta last month.
