Walcott looking forward to playing with Ozil & help Arsenal ‘charge on’ in the Premier League [divider]
Arsenal forward Theo Walcott is looking forward to playing alongside Mesut Özil.
The England international revealed that he has spent more time with Özil in the treatment room than on the field.
“In the treatment room, we have spent a lot of time together. Since Mesut joined the club I haven’t really had the opportunity to play with him and I’m very grateful I’m with such a great talent,” Walcott was quoted as saying by ESPN.
Walcott also believes that Arsenal can build upon their current rich vein of form and move up the Premier League table.
“Hopefully we will stay fit and charge on in the Premier League. Everyone, the whole crowd, is buzzing around the place and when a team is on the top of their game everything happens for them. It seems everything happens for us at the moment,” he added.
Arsenal are currently in 5th place on 42 points after 23 games and while closing the 11 point gap with league leaders Chelsea seems unlikely the Gunners are within striking distance of Southampton and Manchester United who are in fourth and third place, respectively.
Walcott and Özil are expected to feature again against Tottenham at White Hart Lane in the North London derby next week.
Özil has made three assists and scored three goal in 12 appearances for the North-London based club this season.
