West Ham boss Slaven Bilic excited by new signing

West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has stated that he is excited by the signing of Emmanuel Emenike from Fenerbahce.

The former Besiktas manager previously worked with Emenike at Lokomotiv Moscow and played a major role in bringing the Nigeria international to West Ham.

“Emenike has been on our radar and I know him for a long time. He is a great player and I hope he is going to do a great job for us,” Bilic told SkySports.

“He is big. He is not that tall but he is big and strong. He is extremely quick and he is very direct.

“He is a good goal scorer and he works for the team. He goes in the channels. He is a really good player.”

Emenike will not be available for the Premier League clash against last placed Aston Villa according to club co-chairman David Gold.

Gold tweeted that Emenike still has a few issues to be complicated before he can play for the club – most likely international clearance.

Emenike will have to wait until at least the Hammers next game to make his debut. The 28-year-old striker spent the first half of this season on loan at Al Ain scoring seven goal in 11 appearances.
