West Ham confirm departure of international striker

West Ham United have confirmed the departure of the Nigeria international striker Emmanuel Emenike.

Alex Song will also be leaving the London based club to return to Barcelona ahead of next season.

According to the Milliyet newspaper, West Ham would have been obligated to table a bid for Emenike had he made ten starts during his loan spell at the club. However, made just five starts for West Ham during his loan spell.

 

Emenike has struggled at the Premier League outfit scoring just twice since arriving from Fenerbahce on-loan in January but has yet to score in the league.

The 28-year-old joined West Ham on a six month loan deal from Fenerbahce in January. Fenerbahce are willing to part ways with Emenike after he fell out with fans

Emenike has two years remaining on his contract with Fenerbahce and has been linked with a move to rivals Trabzonspor.
