West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has confirmed interest in Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup according to the Fanatik newspaper.

Bilic is quoted as saying: “Ozyakup has really come along this season. Any manager would want to see ın their team.”

The Hammers boss managed Besiktas over the last two seasons but while players like Gokhan Tore thrived Ozyakup did not show the same level of development under his stewardship.

Ozyakup has established himself as a first team regular under the management of Bilic’s replacement Senol Gunes this season.

The Turkish international has been in impressive form this season having provided six assists and scoring six goals from a deep-lying midfield role.

Özyakup has also attracted interest from Arsenal according to Talksport. The 23-year-old midfielder played a major role in Arsenal’s Under-18s side that won the Premier Academy League title in 2009 and made a few appearances in cup competitions for the Gunners before joining Beşiktaş in 2012 for a fee of €500,000.
