West Ham & Sunderland join Turkish giants in race for £7m valued midfielder

West Ham and Sunderland have joined Besiktas in the race for Lazio midfielder Onazi according to Nigerian newspaper Punch.

Besiktas are in pursuit of a central midfielder with Atiba Hutchinson set to leave and advancing in age.

The Hammers have also been linked with several central midfielder’s this summer including Besiktas’ Atiba.

The Black Eagles are keen on bolstering their midfield with Champions League approaching as they lacked depth last season following injuries to Veli Kavlak and Tolgay Arslan.

Premier League sides Everton, Southampton, Swansea and Greek giants Panatinaikos have also been closely linked with the 23-year-old.

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations champion is valued at £7 million by his club Lazio and despite having two-years on his contract he is expected to leave the Serie A giants over the summer.

The Nigerian international started 14 times in the Serie A last season and made a total of 22 appearances in all competitions for Lazio.
