West Ham transfer news: Hammers face battle to lure Mario Mandzukic as Euro giants table £6m offer

West Ham United have suffered a blow in their pursuit of Croatia international striker Mario Mandzukic.

Despite being a regular starter at Juventus, the 31-year-old has been hotly tipped to leave the Serie A champions this summer.

According to Sport Mediaset, Turkish club Besiktas have tabled a lucrative offer for Mandzukic. Per the source, the Istanbul giants are willing to offer the Croatia international an annual salary of £6m per season.

Furthermore, Besiktas are willing to promise Mandzukic that he will be their first choice striker next season.

TalkSport state that Mandzukic is understood to be a target for West Ham this summer. Slaven Bilic will be hoping he can convince his compatriot to make the move to London.

However,  it is still unclear whether Juventus will offload the former Bayern Munich man this summer.

Mandzukic has played a starring role in Juventus’ road to the UEFA Champions League final. The 31-year-old has provided eight assists and scored ten goals in 48 appearances for Juve this season.
