‘Winter Is Here’ – Game of Thrones themed unveiling for winger who leaves Newcastle for Goztepe
Turkish-Football reported that Yoan Gouffran had struck a two-year deal with Goztepe earlier today.
The newly promoted Super Lig outfit confirmed the news today on their official club website.
News of the former Newcastle winger joining Goztepe did not come as a surprise but what did is his unveiling.
The Izmir based outfit announced the transfer with a Game of Thrones inspired tweet.
We don’t quite get how Gouffran ties into the popular series but Newcastle being in the north – well compared to the Aegean shores of Izmir – could be what they are getting at.
