Xabi Alonso ‘still does more for Liverpool FC than Jordan Henderson’ – Reds fans react to hero of Istanbul drawing Porto in Champions League Last 16 draw
Liverpool drew Porto in the Champions League Last 16 draw at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
Former Reds star Xabi Alonso conducted the draw and drew the Premier League outfit a rather favourable team.
Alonso was part of the Liverpool side that won the 2005 Champions League in Istanbul.
Porto are familiar with Istanbul as well having finished Group G as runners-up to Besiktas.
The Black Eagles top the group beating Porto away and drawing in Istanbul.
Liverpool meanwhile topped their group ahead of Sevilla.

Liverpool fans waxed lyrical about Alonso’s display drawing the Champions League balls.
Reds fans reminisced about the hero of Istanbul’s time at the club and even joked that he has done more since leaving Liverpool than some current players have.
