Galatasaray midfielder Yiğit Gökoğlan is set to leave Galatasaray after being made a free agent.

The club have reached a mutual agreement with Gökoğlan to sever ties.

Gökoğlan joined Galatasaray from Manisaspor for €2.5 million on a 4.5 year deal in 2012 but he failed to live up to expectations.

The 25-year-old has spent the last six months training with the reserves and had 1.5 years left on his contract.

Gökoğlan only made nine appearances for Galatasaray since joining.

The Lions have been trying to reduce the size of their squad.

Furkan Özçal, Gökhan Zan, Veysel Sarı are also expected to leave Galatasaray in January.
