Yunus Malli open to representing Turkey [divider]
Mainz midfielder Yunus Mallı has admitted that he is open to representing Turkey at senior international level.
Mallı has played for Germany at youth level but is also eligible to play for Turkey.
The 23-year-old was born in Germany but is of Turkish descent.
“I played for Germany at Under 21 level but I will have talks over whether I will chose to represent Germany or Turkey at international level,” Malli told AA.

Turkish footballers abroad
Turkey has several players in the national team who were born abroad but are of Turkish descent.
Malli has four goals and four assists for Mainz in all competitions this season.
Nuri Şahin, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Kaan Ayhan, Ömer Toprak and Hamit Altıntop were all born in Germany.
Oğuzhan Özyakup was born in the Netherlands, Mevlüt Erdinç was born in France and Ersan Gülüm was born in Australia.
There is an estimated 10 million Turks in Europe with the largest diaspora population being in Germany.
