Trabzonspor manager Ersun Yanal revealed he was pleased to have started 2015 with a win following the 2-0 victory over Manisaspor in the Turkish Cup.

“We needed the three points to help us make it to the next stage of the cup,” Yanal said.

“We took an early lead and sat the rest of the game out. 

“All we need now is another victory to make it to the next round. 

“It was great to start 2015 with a win, hopefully this is just a taster of what is to come.

“We are working on our weaknesses and will return from the winter break stronger than before.

“There is a lot of quality in this squad, we have a lot of work to do but have a few weeks now to implement our system.”

Trabzonspor moved into first place in Group B on eight points following the win.
