Shaqiri linked with Galatasaray and Liverpool

Xherdan Shaqiri has been closely linked with a summer exit following Stoke City’s relegation to the Championship.

Galatasaray have made a move for the Switzerland international.

Shaqiri has opened up about interest from the Lions, revealing that he has the up most respect for head coach Fatih Terim.

The 26-year-old stated that he will play in Turkey one day but not next season.

“I really like Turkey, I love the people and have a lot of respect for Fatih Terim,” Shaqiri told Trt Spor.

“I will play in Turkey one day not next season.”

The latest development will come as a boost to Liverpool who are ‘contemplating’ a move for Shaqiri according to the Echo.

The Swiss ace does have a £12 million release clause in his contract after dropping from the Premier League.

It appears the winger want to leave Stoke but is keen on remaining in the Premier League.

Shaqiri is currently on international duty with Switzerland at the 2018 World Cup and starred in the 1-1 draw against Brazil.

Switzerland will take on Serbia next on Friday in their second Group E game.
