Revealed: Friend exposes which club Man United boss Jose Mourinho wants to manage in future

Man United boss Jose Mourinho still has another two-years on his contract but friend and football pundit Onder Ozen has exposed which club the Portuguese manager wants to coach in the future.

Ozen revealed on Turkish television channel Tivibu that Mourinho wants to manager Fenerbahce.

“When Fenerbahce signed Vitor Pereira as a coach Mourinho told me: ‘What? Is this real? This is a very bad move,” Ozen was quoted as saying.

“I can assure you that managing Fenerbahce one day is one of the projects of Jose’s mind.

“He’s always asking me about Fenerbahce president Aziz Yildirim: ‘Is he alright? Is he going to continue’ or something like that.

“Mourinho certainly is thinking about Fenerbahce as one his future clubs.”

Vitor Pereira has since left Fenerbahce and been replaced by Dick Advocaat.

The Dutch head coach faces an uncertain future himself but Mourinho would be unlikely to take over the Yellow Canaries at the end of the season.

Fenerbahce may seem an unusual destination for the Manchester United boss but they have ties that go back years.

The Yellow Canaries were the first club outside Portugal to make Mourinho a job offer back in 2003.

Speaking at a symposium in Istanbul in 2012 Mourinho said: “I was coaching Porto and still young when Fenerbahce made me an offer. They were the first foreign club to make me an offer.”

Bringing Mourinho to the club is a long term project for Fenerbahce but they may have to wait a few seasons yet to sign him up.

It could come down to Turkish business tycoon Ali Koç winning the next presidential elections.

Koc is expected to take over as Fenerbahce president in the 2018, replacing Aziz Yildirim who has been in charge of the club for over a decade.

“If Ali Koç asked Mourinho to join he could not say no, who could refuse? he has the power to bring anyone to the club and it is not all about money,” Former Fenerbahce president Ali Şen was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.
