£17m Tottenham star striker injury fears grow as return not expected for “a long time”

Concern appears to be growing regarding Tottenham star striker Vincent Janssen’s injury situation.

The 23-year-old made the move to Fenerbahce on a season-long loan from Spurs last summer.

However, Janssen has struggled with injuries since his move and has managed to score just two goals in 11 appearances.

The Netherlands international hasn’t featured for Fenerbahce in over two months and there are concerns that he will not be fit in the foreseeable future.

Fenerbahce manager Aykut Kocaman told reporters that he believes Janssen will be sidelined for a long time.

“We don’t know when Vincent Janssen will be back, but he isn’t excited to return for a long time,” Kocaman told reporters following Fenerbahce’s 2-2 draw against Genclerbirligi.

Fenerbahce tried to terminate Janssen’s loan deal over the January transfer window, however, Tottenham rejected the move.

Janssen made the move to Tottenham for £17 million from AZ Alkmaar back in 2016.

Spurs are back in action this weekend when they take on their north London rivals Arsenal in the Premier League.
