£17m Tottenham striker linked with return to Euro Giants this summer

Fenerbahce are set to refocus their efforts on signing Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen.

The Netherlands international’s future at the north London based club is cast in doubt after falling out of favour with manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Janssen spent last season on loan with Fenerbahce but struggled with injuries. The 24-year-old subsequently made just 16 appearances for the Yellow Canaries.

According to the daily Turkish newspaper Sabah, Fenerbahce are set to step up their efforts to sign Janssen after failing to land Bas Dost.

Per the source, Fenerbahce want to re-sign Janssen on a season-long loan deal.

Janssen’s agent  Louis Laros recently state that his client wants clarification regarding his future at Tottenham. The Netherlands international has fallen down the pecking order following the signing of Fernando Llorente.

“We are yet to receive any formal offers,” Jansen’s agent Louis Laros was quoted as saying by FutbolArena.

“Janssen wants clarification regarding his future. Despite suffering an injury last season, he was very happy at Fenerbahce.

“Fenerbahce would be a great club for Janssen.”

Janssen – who joined Spurs for £17 million in 2016 – has two years remaining on his contract with the north London based club.

Tottenham take on Newcastle United in their opening game of the season.
