Caglar Soyuncu has yet to make his Leicester City debut despite joining the Premier League outfit from Freiburg on a £19m move on transfer deadline day but head coach Claude Puel has hinted he could make his debut against Arsenal on Monday.

Soyuncu did have a muscle injury when he joined and Puel did say he needs to learn English before making the team.

Question marks were raised when Puel left the young defender out of the team even with Wes Morgan out suspended.

In fact, Soyuncu has only made the matchday squad once and that was in a League Cup game.

Despite not making a single appearance for Leicester and playing in the reserves Soyuncu has started the last 15 games for the Turkey national side and was called up for the games against Bosnia and Russia last week.

With Morgan receiving his second red card in three games just before the international break it looks like Puel is finally ready to bring Soyuncu into the fold.

Puel said: “I think he is ready. He has to compete with experienced players.

“He’s a young player, but a young player with a lot of attributes.”

Soyuncu is match fit thanks to playing four games over the past two months for the Turkey national side.

The 22-year-old has been training with the first team and could fill in for the suspended Morgan at centre-back.
