Ilkay Gundogan made his first start for Manchester City after spending 10 months out injured in the Carabao Cup against West Brom on Wednesday 20 September.
City ended up winning the game at the Hawthorns 2-1 but had to be taken off in the second half after picking up an injury.

Gundogan had to be taken off after the incident.
As you can imagine City fans were furious with the tackle.

City fans were not impressed with Yacob’s challenge in the slightest or with Tony Pulis claiming his player got the ball – which he clearly did not.
If gundogan is out for another few months I will hire someone to breake Yacob´s legs aswell…shitcunt

Pulis: “The lad (Gundogan) looked ok walking off, City got their free-kick, Yacob got booked… He (Yacob) got the ball”

Must have been another ball on the itch cos he got nowhere near that one

He meant the ball in Gundogan’s ankle

With a cowardly, two-footed challenge from behind like that, TP is correct: Yacob’s got one ⚽

Imagine taking him out on his return from injury, with all the serious injuries Gundogan has had in his short career, yacob is a disgrace

Just watched that Yacob tackle on Gundogan again and how is it not a red card! He can never get the ball from there and 2 footed #criminal

Yacob is a dirty twat for that tackle on Gundogan…completely unnecessary and was deserving of a red! Looks like he’s out for another month

Not everyone thought Yacob was out of line for his tackle or that he should have been lenient on Gundogan because he returned from injury.
So because someones been injured we should just allow to fun free and score goals. If he gets injured again, thats how it is. Football.

It’s not our fault he’s got glass legs

I see people cussing Yacob out for tackling Gundogan and supposedly injuring him it’s not Yacobs fault he’s made of glass 1/2

Yacob rubbed further salt in the fans wounds…
After ‘that’ tackle on Gundogan, Yacob equalises for West Brom

It was a tackle from behind, yellow card, how you can see a two footed tackle from that I’ll never know. City x 3 yellows, Baggies x 1 yellow, need I say more.
As an MCFC supporter I’m not sure how that’s a two footed tackle either, his left foot is folded under his left thigh which they can clearly see if they put down the pint and sober up. Even the video shows his left knee bent for the whole tackle with his left foot trailing behind. Crappy turn of events for Gundogan but doesn’t seem serious luckily
