Bundesliga wonder-kid Caglar Soyuncu targeted by Man Utd & Man City valued at €25m

Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu is now valued at €25 million according to the club president of his former club Altinordu.

Altinordu club president Seyit Mehmet Ozkan revealed that the Turkish second division club have a 30 percent future sale clause option and that the young defender is currently worth €25 million.

“Altinordu stands to make 30 percent of his transfer fee if he is sold on from Freiburg, we know there are several clubs interested in him and that he is now worth €25 million,” Ozkan was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.com.

Manchester United, Manchester City, Valencia, Roma and Lille have been keeping tabs on Soyuncu a source close to the player recently revealed to Turkish-Football.com.

Soyuncu recently revealed that he admires current United boss Jose Mourinho.

“I admire Jose Mourinho, not just his football but his philosophy,” Soyuncu said.

“I would like to work with him in the future.”

City meanwhile have a history of targeting Turkish youngsters. The Citizens recently brought in Enes Unal from Bursaspor and the 19-year-old who is currently on loan at FC Twente already has 11 goals this season in the Eredivisie.

Pep Guardiola’s side have also been sending scouts to keep an eye on Altinordu for the past two seasons.

Altinordu have invested heavily in youth development and the club aims to build a first team comprised solely of home grown players in the future.

Caglar joined Freiburg from Altinordu last summer and despite being 20-years-old he has already established himself as a first team regular.

The Turkish international star has made 17 appearances in the league for Freiburg and started in the Bundesliga sides last three matches.

Soyuncu has been called up to the Turkish national side twice and played 90 minutes against Russia in August 2016.

Freiburg take on HSV Hamburg on Saturday 17 February, Soyuncu is expected to start.
