Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic saw his slim hopes of a future at the club next season evaporate away following the transfer of Xherdan Shaqiri yesterday.

Markovic would have struggled for playing time even if the transfer had not gone ahead but it is difficult seeing just how he would be able to break into the team.

Jurgen Klopp did not give Markovic a look in during the friendlies against Chester and Tranmere Rovers last week.

Goal meanwhile has made it clear that Markovic has been told to find a new side this summer.

Per the source, Fenerbahce and Anderlecht both want the Serbia international.

Sources close to the Fenerbahce revealed to Turkish-Football that Markovic has actually been offered via agents.

The Yellow Canaries are no stranger to the 25-year-old after loaning him over the 2015-16 campaign but he had his season disrupted by injuries.

The Super Lig outfit have made signing two new wingers a priority and while Markovic is not of the list they will consider him should their current transfer efforts failed.

The winger was also offered to Galatasaray who turned down the chance to sign him after completing the loan transfer of Henry Onyekuru from Everton on loan.

The Lions outfit are no longer interested in Markovic.

Liverpool paid Benfica £20m [BBC] for Markovic in 2014 but would be unlikely to recoup much of their original investment.

The winger has just 12 months remaining on his current deal.
