£20m Man City star Ilkay Gundogan could be back in time for Man United clash
Man City star playmaker Ilkay Gundogan could be back in time for the summertime derby with Man United.
The Manchester Evening news states that Gundogan aims to be back in time for pre-season. City’s first scheduled friendly is against their rivals Man United in the USA on July 20.
“I just try to do the best every day and try to come back as soon as possible on the field. Hopefully I can start pre-season,” Gundogan told Sirius XM.
Gundogan put on a string of impresive displays for Manchester City this season before gettin injured.
The Germany international has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a knee injury.
Gundogan also missed last season’s pre-season tour due to a dislocated knee he suffered while still at Dortmund.
The 26-year-old joined City for £20m (BBC) from the Bundesliga giants last summer.
Man City take on Arsenal in the Premier League next weekend. The Citizens are third in the Premier League, 12 points behind league leaders Chelsea.
