Beşiktaş are simply on fire at the moment. Top of the table and second in their Europa League group the Black Eagles cannot stop scoring. The Istanbul giants have netted 27 times in 10 league games. Attacking football is of course a trademark of Şenol Güneş who some of you may remember from the Turkish national team side that finished the 2002 World Cup in third place. Bursaspor who were managed by Güneş last season scored the highest number of goals in the league last season (69) and Beşiktaş are already the highest scorers in the league. The Eagles forward line was already pretty menacing last season under Slaven Bilic but has become absolutely lethal under Güneş. The fluidity, speed and precision at which Beşiktaş attack is a joy to watch. The likes of Oğuzhan Özyakup, Gökhan Töre, Gomez, Jose Sosa, Olcay Şahan and so forth are like a wolf pack hunting down defences as if they were unsuspected sheep.
