£35m Bundesliga Star Caglar Soyuncu Confirms Arsenal Talks, Reveals When Next Round Of Negotiations Will Be Held

Turkey international star defender Caglar Soyuncu continues to be linked with a move to Arsenal.

Altinordu president Mehmet Ozkan, whose club first spotted and then developed Soyuncu before his transfer to the Bundesliga recently said the Turkey will join the Gunners.

“Caglar Soyuncu is set to join Arsenal,” he was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football at International Football Economic Forum held at The Grand Tarabya Hotel in Istanbul.

“Of course we would make a cut from the transfer if he joins Arsenal.

“Arsenal asked us for data on his time at the club, we have put something together for them which will be handed over.”

The Turkey international has opened up about interest from the North London based outfit, confirming talks have been held and further negotiations will go ahead after the international break.

“One of the biggest clubs in England, Arsenal are interested but it is not a done deal yet,” Soyuncu said.

“I am going to play the international games first and then we will make a decision, I will hold further talks afterwards.”

Freiburg value the 21-year-old centre-back as being worth £35 million but his former club do have a 25 percent future sale clause and could stand to make close to £9 million if the transfer went through for the fee being quoted.

Arsenal fans wishing to take a look at their potential new centre-back at action will have the chance to do so when Turkey take on Iran, Tunisia and Russia.

Soyuncu opened up about his future while at the national team camp.

The Bundesliga rising star is expected to start for Turkey against Iran on Monday 28 June and is likely to feature against Tunisia and Russia the following week.

The final game against Russia will be played on Tuesday 6 June.

The rising star is a first-choice defender for Turkey despite his age and has 13 international caps for the national side.

The 1.87m tall defender scored once in 30 appearances for Freiburg this campaign.
