Ozil was heavily criticised by SkySports pundit Gary Neville recently. The former Man United star stated that Ozil plays like ‘like he is down a coal mine.’

Former Liverpool player and manager Graham Souness also slammed the Germany international earlier this week.

Ozil made the move to Arsenal for a club record £42.4 million (BBC) back in September 2013.

The victory over West Ham has lifted Arsenal up into fifth place, four points behind fourth placed Manchester City. The Gunners also have one game in hand over the Citizens.

Arsenal take on an  in-form Crystal Palace on Monday night. The Eagles have won four of their last five games in the Premier League.
