£88m Man United Transfer Priority Advised To Consider Teaming Up With Emre Can In Juventus Midfield

Manchester United have been closely linked with a move for Lazio star Milinkovic-Savic.

The Independent report that the Serbia international is a transfer priority for the Red Devils.

The Serie A outfit have attached an £88 million price-tag [Sun] to their star midfielder.

Italian manager Fabio Capello has had his say on the matter.

Capello believes the in-demand midfielder would make a formidable midfield partnership with Emre Can and Miralem Pjanic.

“[Milinkovic-Savic] is like an Ibrahimovic of the midfield,” Capello was quoted as saying in The Express.

“If Juve sacrificed [Miralem] Pjanic to get to him I would understand, but it would be better to give up another player because with a midfield with [Emre] Can, Milinkovic-Savic and Pjanic would cause problems for everyone.”

There were concerns whether Can would be a first-team player for Juve but Capello seems to think he should be a starter.

Juve recently signed Can on a four-year deal from Liverpool.

The midfielder of Turkish origin parted ways with the Reds on a free transfer.

The 24-year-old joins Cengiz Under and Hakan Calhanoglu as the third Turk in the Serie A.

Like Calhanoglu Can was born in Germany.

Milinkovic-Savic would cost a lot more than Can but his father appears to be keen on him remaining on Italy.

The Serbia midfielder’s father, Nikola, has revealed he’s advised his son to consider a move to Juventus.

“I’ve told him many times that Juventus would be perfect for him, the ideal club,” Milinkovic said.

“In Turin there is a prestigious club with multiple trophies that has been dominating the scene for years. He’d have the opportunity to grow and improve until reaching full maturity.”

Milinkovic-Savic is currently in Russia with the Serbia national team and has started both games.

Serbia beat Costa Rica 1-0 in their opening game but lost 2-1 to Switzerland on Match Day 2.

The final Group E game will be played against Brazil on Wednesday.
