Emre Can will miss Liverpool’s clash with Newcastle United in the Premier League this weekend due to a suspension.
The 21-year-old picked up a yellow card during the Red’s 6-1 victory over Southampton in the League Cup.
Can has been in impressive form of late and has been a prominent part of Liverpool’s midfield since the arrival of manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Germany international provided an assist during Liverpool’s mid-week victory.
England international Daniel Sturridge found the back of the net twice in the first half while Derek Origi scored a hat-trick. Jordon Ibe scored Liverpool’s remaining goal.
The 21-year-old now has one assist and one goal for Liverpool in 21 appearances this season. Liverpool have the chance to move up into 5th place if they record a victory this weekend.
