Emre Can missed Liverpool’s clash with Newcastle United in the Premier League yesterday afternoon.
Emre Can missed the game as he was serving a suspension. The 21-year-old received a yellow card during Liverpool’s win over Southampton in the League Cup. Can will be available for Liverpool’s Europa League clash next week and their next Premier League game.
The Red’s were defeated by a 2-0 scoreline in the 21-year-old’s absence.
An own-goal from Skrtel and a classy finish from Wijnaldum gave Newcastle all three points on the day. The Reds were looking to continue their run of form under Jurgen Klopp when they traveled to St James’ Park.
Can has played an important role in Liverpool’s midfield since the arrival of manager Jurgen Klopp. The Germany international provided an assist for Daniel Sturridge during Liverpool’s mid-week victory.
Following the game we took to social media to see how Can’s absence went down with fans.
