Bilic – ‘We proved ourselves against Arsenal & Tottenham’ [divider]
Beşiktaş manager Slaven Bilic believes his side proved themselves against Tottenham and Arsenal in European competition this season.
“We have proven that we are a side to be taken seriously in Europe,” Bilic said.
“The team gave Arsenal a great game and we drew and beat Tottenham in the Europa League.
“It is still way too early to talk about challenging for the cup but we will give it our best shot.
“There is a great team spirit in the camp and I am proud to be a part of the Beşiktaş family.
“However, we need to keep our feet on the ground and not get too carried away, we still have a lot of work to do.
“We have higher expectations now, there is more competition within the team, we are developing into a stronger side.”
Beşiktaş drew 0-0 against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League play-offs but lost the return leg 1-0 at the Emirates.
The Black Eagles drew against Tottenham at White Hart Lane in the Europa League but beat Spurs 1-0 in Istanbul.
