Başakşehir kept their ninth clean sheet this season following the 1-0 win against Balıkesirspor.

Only Bayern Munich have conceded fewer goals than Başakşehir in Europe’s top-tier leagues this season.

The Istanbul based side have only let in five goals in 13 games this season – Bayern have conceded just three this season.

Başakşehir manager Abdullah Avcı revealed that he was pleased with his sides victory following the game.

“We created many goal scoring positions, we had so many clear cut chances and really should have converted more,” Avcı said.

“I told the boys they should have scored in the first half, we won but we made it difficult for ourselves.

“Of course the state of the pitch did not help, it was difficult to play a passing game and control the ball you can’t make too much of a big deal about these factors, it is not an excuse.

“I am just happy we did score and want the congratulate the players for winning and keeping another clean sheet.”

Başakşehir moved into fourth place on 21 points following the win.
