Fenerbahce are unsure about Lazar Markovic’s future in Istanbul following his impressive run of form.

According to the daily newspaper Sabah, a Fenerbahce representative stated that they would be unable to sign Markovic even if they offered €25 million.

Liverpool are currently monitoring their on-loan forward Lazar Markovic’s performances and have scouts present at every Fenerbahce game.

Markovic is currently on a season long-loan at the Turkish Super Lig club Fenerbahce.

An option to buy was not included in the loan agreement meaning the ball is firmly in Liverpool’s court regarding Markovic’s future.

The 21-year-old  joined Liverpool on a £17.5 million transfer fee from Benfica but failed to settle in and was played out of position for most of his time spent at the club.

The young winger scored three times and made one assist in 34 appearances for the Reds last season in all competitions. Markovic has three assists and two goals in 19 appearances for Fenerbahce this season.
