Bayer Leverkusen youngster Levin Öztunalı will join Werder Bremen on loan in January until the end of the season.
Bayer sporting director Rudi Voller confirmed that Öztunalı will stay through June 2016.
“Levin’s qualities are exceptional,” Voller said.
“What Levin needs now is match practice at the highest level.
“Bremen can offer him more of this than we currently can in Leverkusen, where the competition is much greater in his position.”
Öztunalı is the grandson of former Germany great Uwe Seeler and can represent Germany and Turkey at international level.
Bremen sporting director Thomas Gauge believes the transfer will be mutually beneficial.
“With Levin we have got one of the most sought-after talent in the Bundesliga,” Gauge said.
“I am sure that this change is profitable for all parties.
“We gain an added option with great quality and Levin has a great chance to gain match practice.
“It is exactly the type of transfer that will help us.”
Öztunalı joined Bayer from Hamburg in 2013 and has made Champions League and six Bundesliga appearances for the club.
