Galatasaray suffered a 3-1 defeat against Lazio in Rome to crash out of the Europa League Round of 32 4-2 on aggregate.
The first half was played at a low tempo and fairly uneventful but it heated up in the second half when Parolo opened the scoring on 59 minutes and Anderson rubbed further salt in Galatasaray’s wounds when Anderson doubled Lazio’s lead two minutes later.
Yasin Oztekin gave the Lions a glimmer of hope when he scored just minutes later but second half substitute Klose put the tie out of sight with the home sides third and final goal.
The Lions are now out of the Europa League and practically out of the title race – just the Turkish Cup remains up for grabs.
