Liverpool beat rivals Manchester United 2-0 at Anfield in the first meeting between the two sides in the Europa League.
Emre Can started for the Reds in central midfield helping his side record a memorable victory in the Europa League Last 16 first-leg clash.
Can did however, reveal that he was not particularly pleased with his own performance but did underline that he has developed as a player under the stewardship of Jurgen Klopp who replaced former head coach Brendan Rodgers earlier in the season.
“I made a few mistakes,” Can was quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.
“I have to play better but I feel like I’m developing as a player under Jurgen Klopp.
“I know the boss is behind me. I want to improve every day and I always give my best for the team.”
Can managed to keep his place in the side following the managerial change and has been one of Klopp’s most trusted players featuring regularly for the Reds.
The Liverpool midfielder actually put on a pretty decent performance making four successful tackles and one interception. The Germany international of Turkish origin helped his side keep possession with a passing accuracy of 85% after making 68 passes. Can also contributed on the attacking front with two successful dribbles and one key pass.
