Liverpool suffered a 3-2 loss against Southampton at St Mary’s despite taking a two-goal lead in the first half.
The Reds went 2-0 up early on thanks to goals from Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge and could have extended their lead further if it had not been for the heroics of Fraser Forster in goal for Southampton.
The Saints mounted a second-half comeback with Sadio Mane scoring twice Graziano Pelle also netting.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp dropped Henderson due to injury and started with Emre Can and Joe Allen in midfield.
Can played most of the game as a box-to-box midfielder making 66 passes at an 88 percent accuracy and made the highest number of interceptions in midfield (3) as well as contributing effectively to attacking moves but was unable to prevent his side from imploding in the second half.
