West Ham boss reveals he is keeping tabs on Turkish players

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic has revealed that he is keeping tabs on a number of Turkish players.

Speaking to Fanatik Bilic said: “I am keeping tabs on a few players in Turkey. I worked in the country for two years so have had a lot of time to familiarise myself with the league.”

The Croatian manager spent two-years coaching Istanbul giants Besiktas through a transitory phase. Bilic did not get to play a single home game over the two seasons due to the Inonu stadium reconstruction project.

The current Hammers boss did not win silverware at Besiktas but is largely credited with laying the foundations for the current side that are first in the Super League table four points clear of second placed Fenerbahce.

Bilic also confirmed that Besiktas star Gokhan Tore is one of his targets and that he would like the explosive winger to join the Hammers over the summer.

“Everyone knows how much I like Tore he is an excellent player and I want him at West Ham,” he added.

Tore still has another three years remanning on his contract but Besiktas president Fikret Orman has confirmed that the club will listen to offers at the end of the season.

The former Besiktas head coach is also reported to be keen on former Arsenal youth Oguzhan Ozyakup who plays for the Black Eagles and Caner Erkin who is available on a free transfer.
