Besiktas failed to take advantage of second placed Fenerbahce dropping points after losing 2-1 against Kasimpasa yesterday.
The Black Eagles would have moved six points clear at the top of the table with a victory over Kasimpasa and got off to a great start when Oguzhan Ozyakup setup Jose Sosa with a defence splitting pass allowing the Argentinian to finish off a one-on-one with the opposition goalkeeper.
Former Arsenal man Ozyakup has now provided 32 assists since joining the Black Eagles in 2012 and he has setup eight goals this season for the league leaders.
The Turkish international star made the highest number of passes for his side – 90 – and also worked hard making the highest number of interceptions (3) in midfield.
Despite putting on yet another impressive performance Ozyakup was unable to prevent his side losing.
The 23-year-old midfielder is currently – statistically – rated the fifth best midfielder in the league according to Whoscored.
Ozyakup has scored 20 times and setup 32 goals for the Black Eagles since joining from Arsenal in 2012 on a €500,000 transfer.
