Liverpool star Emre Can revealed that he has invited all his friends and family to the Europa League quarter-final first-leg clash against Borussia Dortmund tonight.
Can stated that he applied for 25-30 tickets as most of his family live nearby to the city of Dortmund.
Can told Sport1: “Dortmund is not so far away from my home town so I ordered as many tickets as possible probably 25 or 30 so that my friends and family will be there.”
The 22-year-old was born in Germany into a Turkish family originating from Aydin in the west of the country and he has relatives in both his homelands.
Can is one of three ethnic Turks born in Germany who could actually start with the others being Nuri Sahin and Ilkay Gundogan for Dortmund.
Sahin and Can are both fit while Gundogan will face a late fitness test to see if he is ready for the clash.
The Germany and Turkish national team is full of players born in Germany of Turkish origin. Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil, Bayer Leverkusen’s Hakan Calhanoglu and Mainz’s Yunus Malli are just a few other notable examples.
