Borussia Dortmund drew 1-1 against Liverpool at home in the first-leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash.
Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel did not start Nuri Sahin but did bring on the Turkish international at half time.
The German giants managed to cancel out Origi’s first half-goal soon after the interval when Hummels equalised.
Sahin put on a valiant display making the joint highest number of tackles in midfield (2) but his contribution to the attack stood out the most.
The 25-year-old midfielder made the highest number of dribbles (3) according to Opta for his team despite only playing the second half.
Sahin also passed well hitting an 89 percent accuracy and pulled the strings from deep with his short and long range passes.
The midfielder is of course no stranger to Jurgen Klopp who first discovered Sahin during his time in charge of the club.
Sahin did enjoy a brief six-month stint on-loan at Liverpool in 2013 before returning to Dortmund who were at that stage still managed by Klopp.
The German manager was critical of former Reds boss Brendan Rodgers for playing Sahin out of position and reinstated him in a central midfield role on his return to the Bundesliga giants.
Sahin has spent most of the season out with injury but has established himself as a first-team regular since his return.
