James Milner has warned Borussia Dortmund that Liverpool star Emre Can will return for the Europa League quarter-final second-leg clash.
“He’ll be a big plus for us coming back,” Milner told the official Liverpool website.
Milner warned Dortmund to be careful of Can’s power, pace and tenacity going into the second-leg clash.
“He has been brilliant this year in midfield, brilliant on the ball and his energy, strength and pace winning the ball back for us is massive,” he added.
The young midfielder has been one of the stand out performers in Jurgen Klopp’s side since replacing former manager Brendan Rodgers.
Can will of course be well rested as he missed the 4-1 victory over Stoke City in the Premier League due to a two-match suspension he is currently serving.
The ban does not however, cross over to the Europa League and the 22-year-old is likely to start in central midfield against the German giants. Joe Allen could get the nod with the absence of the England international.
Liverpool drew the first leg 1-1 with Can in the starting line-up but the Reds will be without captain Jordan Henderson due to injury.
