Liverpool star a doubt for rest of season

Emre Can

Liverpool’s Emre Can could potentially be ruled out for the rest of the season according to the Liverpool Echo newspaper.

The report states that Can will undergo a scan to day to find out the full extend of his ankle injury.

The 22-year-old departed Anfield on crutches last night following his sides 4-3 win over Borussia Dortmund in the quarter finals of the in Europa League.

The former Bayer Leverkusen had his right ankle in a protective boot after he twisted it late in the second half. A scan will determine whether there is ligament damage.

Can played a major role in his sides victory and provided the assist for Liverpool’s opener when he played though a perfectly weighted pass to Derek Origi.

Can is ruled out for Liverpool’s clash with Bournemouth this weekend in the Premier League due to a suspended. The 22-year-old also missed last weekend’s win over Stoke City serving the same suspension.
