On-loan Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo has revealed that playing against the likes of Mario Gomez, Robin van Persie, Nani and Samuel Eto’o has helped him develop.
Omeruo joined Kasimpasa on a temporary move over the summer transfer window and has established himself as a first-team regular.
The Nigerian international has been tested against seasoned international strikers including former Chelsea striker Eto’o.
Omeruo told the official Chelsea website: “Yes indeed, people like Mario Gomez, Robin van Persie, Nani and Samuel Eto’o. It’s been amazing. It was good coming up against Samuel. We beat his team Antalyaspor 2-1 a few weeks ago and I was happy he didn’t score!”
The 22-year-old defender also revealed that he was pleased to have got the chance to talk with Eto’o ahead of the Antalyaspor game.
“I spoke to Samuel before the game and also their coach [former Chelsea assistant] Jose Morais. It was the first time I have had a chance to speak to Samuel since he left Chelsea which was nice,” he added.
Omeruo has played regular first team football this season and established himself as one of the most promising defenders in the league.
Kasimpasa are currently 5th just two points behind Istanbul rivals Basaksehir in fourth and 10 points off 3rd placed Konyaspor.
