Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has heaped praise on his clubs fans for their support during the memorable 4-3 victory over Borussia Dortmund.
The 22-year-old referred to the fans as the 12th man and stated that he has never played in an atmosphere like there was on Thursday evening.
“It was unbelievable. I’ve never played in an atmosphere like that,” Can told the Liverpool Echo.
“They were our 12th man. We were one team all together – the players, the manager, the staff and the supporters.”
The Germany international played a starring role in his sides incredible comeback against Bundelsiga giants Dortmund in the Europa League quarter-final second-leg tie.
Canprovided the assist for Origi that kick started the Reds into action just after the half time break and won five tackles against Dortmund – the highest figure in the game.
The Red’s will take on La Liga outfit Villarreal in the semi-final of the Europa League after they eliminated Sparta Prague from the tournament.
