2014/15 campaign has been “frustrating” for Ozil says Arsenal boss Wenger
[divider]Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated that Mesut Ozil has had a ‘frustrating’ season so far but is backing the 26 year old to return to his best form.
Wenger spoke with Arsenal.com regarding the German internationals return from injury.
“It’s a frustrating season for him as he has not contributed yet,” the boss said. “It was not a convincing start. He played six games, scored one goal against Aston Villa.
“What we pay for today is our slow start of the season because in the first six games of the season we won two games but we dropped too many points.
“There is now an opportunity to come back into the team and contribute to the team. When you are a football player you want to play games.”
Ozil has not featured for the Arsenal since damaging his knee ligaments during a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in October.
The Arsenal playmaker has made two assists and scored one goal in nine appearances for the North-London based club this season.
Ozil joined Arsenal for a record £42.5 million transfer fee from Real Madrid last season.
