Galatasaray have held early talks with John Obi Mikel’s representatives according to the Turkish sports paper AMK.
The report states that the Istanbul giants met with Mikel’s agent and that the experinced midfielder is open to a move if Galatasaray can agree a transfer fee with Chelsea.
AMK goes onto state that Galatasaray are planning a loan bid for the Chelsea midfielder.
The Nigeria international reportedly turned down a £110k-a-week offer from the Istanbul Giants back in January following the appointment of Guus Hiddink. Mikel has returned to form after struggling for game time under Jose Mourinho.
Mikel featured during Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham in the Premier League on Monday. The 29-year-old has one goal and one assist in 31 appearances for the Blues.
Chelsea take on relegation battlers Sunderland in the league this weekend.
