The 22-year-old has thrived since the appointment of Jurgen Klopp in place of Brendan Rodgers earlier on in the season. Can was previously playing out of position in defence under Rodgers however, since the appointment of Klopp he has been deployed in midfield.
The Germany international has cemented a place in the Red’s starting line-up and made his presence felt during Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Villarreal.
Can returned from an ankle injury way ahead of schedule to star in the game and drive his team to the final.
The former Bayer Leverkusen man has yet to win any silverware with Liverpool but has the chance to do so when his side take on Sevilla in the Europa League final.
Liverpool would book a place in the Champions League next season if they manage to win the trophy.
