Liverpool star Emre Can has stated that the upcoming Sevilla clash in the Europa League final the most important game of his career.
The 22-year-old midfielder is expected to start for the Red’s after returning well ahead of schedule following his ankle injury against Borussia Dortmund.
Can was expected to miss the rest of the season but managed to regain fitness and lead his side to the final.
“Maybe it’s the most important game [of my career] against Sevilla because I’ve played just one final against Manchester City, so it’s the biggest game for me,” Emre can told Liverpool’s official website.
“Sevilla know how to play in the Europa League. They’ve won the last two Europa League titles, and so it will be a very tough game, but if we show what we are able to do as a team then we can win the final.”
This would be the first European competition final that Can has ever made an appearance in if Jurgen Klopp does indeed start him.
Can played a key role in the Reds beating Villarreal 3-0 in the Europa League semi-final second leg and is likely to feature in the final.
